Premium−70%Borderlands — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-BDL-100
Claptrap, the Last CL4P-TP and Mordecai, the Hunter lead a Gruul (red/green) partner Commander deck of random loot: drop a gun means roll a real six-sided die and create a Gun Equipment token with that many ammo counters, each worth +1/+0. Claptrap drops one every combat and hands it to a creature, every 6 deals 2 damage to each opponent, and Mordecai reloads the guns of whoever connects.
Borderlands — Bazillions of Guns
Led by the partners Claptrap, the Last CL4P-TP and Mordecai, the Hunter, this Gruul (red/green) 100-Card Commander Deck is set on Pandora, a frontier planet of desert, ice and jungle owned in turn by every weapons corporation in the galaxy and abandoned by each. Beneath it sleep alien Vaults that open once every two centuries; above it floats a corporate moon base that can drop anything on anyone in under a minute. Those who come to open the Vaults are called Vault Hunters, and what they really do all day is pick up guns — bazillions of them, each rolled at random from a manufacturer's parts bin, each announced by a beam of coloured light: white, green, blue, purple, and the orange everyone waits for. The cast includes Roland, Lilith, Brick, Axton, Maya, Salvador, Zer0, Gaige, Krieg, Amara, FL4K, Tiny Tina, Marcus Kincaid, Mad Moxxi, Ellie, Mr. Torgue, Handsome Jack and Butt Stallion.
- Drop a gun: word for word on every card that drops one — "Roll a six-sided die. Create a Gun token with that many ammo counters." The Gun is an Equipment: "Equipped creature gets +1/+0 for each ammo counter on this Equipment. Equip {1}." Ammo is the only custom counter.
- The commanders are the plan: Claptrap drops a gun at the beginning of each of your combats and attaches it to one of your creatures, and whenever you roll a 6 he deals 2 damage to each opponent. Mordecai has reach, gives equipped creatures trample and adds an ammo counter to their Guns whenever they deal combat damage to a player.
- Twenty-six cards drop guns or read the die and the ammo: Tiny Tina rolls two dice and keeps the best, Mr. Torgue deals 1 damage to each opponent per die rolled, Amara fights on a 6, The Vault Key draws on a 6, Handsome Jack drops one each upkeep, Tediore Reload throws the empty gun and gives a new one. Twenty more reward armed creatures.
Why Gruul
Red is the gunfight, the explosions, the Psychos and Mr. Torgue. Green is Pandora itself — the beasts, the hunters and the dumb luck of a planet that always hands you something bigger. Two combos close the game: Timothy Lawrence, Jack's Body Double with Psycho Hijacker makes infinite hasty Psychos, and Ellie, Scrapyard Mechanic carrying The Infinity Pistol makes unlimited green mana for Marcus Kincaid to drop guns forever. Eridium Shard, ECHO Device, Fast Travel Station and Golden Key ramp; Shop at Marcus Munitions tutors; Critical Hit, Fastball and Tediore Reload remove threats; Moonshot Strike destroys every creature that isn't equipped; Mad Moxxi and The Golden Chest draw; New-U Station protects.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
