Premium−70%Top Gun — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-TOP-100
Pete "Maverick" Mitchell leads a Boros (red/white) Commander deck about never leaving your wingman: every "Wingman —" ability triggers when its creature attacks alongside another creature with flying. Maverick gives haste to your other fliers and makes every Wingman ability trigger twice — deploy pilots, attack in pairs or more, cash in double.
Top Gun — You Never Leave Your Wingman
Commanded by Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, this Boros (red/white) 100-Card Commander Deck draws on both films, Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick. The Navy's fighter weapons school sends the top one percent of its pilots to Miramar to relearn what the missile age thought it had buried: dogfighting. In the first film a lieutenant carrying his father's reputation flies with his radar officer Goose, loses him, and comes back to fly as Iceman's wingman. In the second, the same man, still a captain, is recalled to teach twelve graduates a two-and-a-half-minute strike at the bottom of a canyon — among them Goose's son. The whole story fits in one sentence every instructor repeats: you never leave your wingman. The cast includes Goose, Iceman, Rooster, Hangman, Phoenix, Bob, Payback, Fanboy, Coyote, Slider, Hollywood and Wolfman, Merlin, Jester, Viper, Charlie Blackwood, Penny Benjamin, Carole Bradshaw, Hondo, Cyclone and Hammer, with the F-14 Tomcat, the P-51 Mustang and Darkstar.
- Wingman: word for word on twenty-one cards — "Wingman — <effect> (Triggers when this creature attacks alongside another creature with flying.)" Goose scries 2 and gains 2 life, Iceman makes another attacker indestructible with first strike, Rooster returns a flier from the graveyard, Hangman shoots, Bob pins a creature, Hollywood and Wolfman bring a Nugget, Darkstar burns the table.
- Maverick in four lines: flying and haste; your other fliers have haste; every Wingman ability of your creatures triggers an additional time; and his own Wingman line draws a card — two with him.
- The squadron: Nugget tokens are instant 1/1 flying wingmen; Charlie Blackwood, the Landing Signal Officer, the helmet and G-suit, the tanker and the flight deck give flying to whoever lacks it. Admiral Kazansky draws when two fliers attack, the Top Gun Trophy adds a +1/+1 counter on every Wingman trigger, and Danger Zone destroys every creature without flying.
Why Boros
White is the Navy — the school, the training, the wingman rule, admirals, plane captains and rescue swimmers. Red is the man — speed, ego, afterburners, the inverted dive, the bar piano, and a pilot who breaks every rule on his way to the right call. No blue: nobody in these films outwits an opponent; they outfly them. Two combos close the game: Do It Again with Tanker Rendezvous takes unlimited combats, and Mike "Viper" Metcalf with Flight Deck Plane Captain makes unlimited hasty copies. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Boros Signet, Talisman of Conviction and The Top Gun Trophy ramp; Pick Your Wingman tutors; Fox Two, Bomb on Target and Bandits at Twelve O'Clock remove threats; Danger Zone sweeps; Fighter Weapons School draws; Pop Flares, Afterburners and Cyclone protect.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
