Absolute Green Lantern — Without Fear

Commanded by Jo Mullein, Absolute Green Lantern, this Simic (green/blue) 100-Card Commander Deck follows the Absolute Green Lantern story in Evergreen, Nevada. A lantern-shaped vessel the size of a mountain seals the small desert town under a dome, and its master, Abin Sur — a towering grey alien with four arms — orders the people to be without fear, then judges them one by one. Hal Jordan, a toy-store clerk, shoots at him with gold-painted bullets; Jo Mullein, a former cop, catches the alien's power in her solid gold wedding ring. The Green Lantern crashes on Main Street, billionaire Hector Hammond takes the wreck, and the Blackstars come to reclaim it. The cast includes John Stewart, Guy Gardner as the town sheriff, Jessica Cruz, Simon Baz, Cameron Chase of the D.E.O., Todd Rice, Kari Limbo, Carol Ferris, Steven Dayton, Goldface, Sinestro, Kilowog, Katma Tui, Salaak, Rac Shade, Re of Xudar and Mogo, the Blackstar World.

• Sentence: "Exile target creature an opponent controls with mana value less than or equal to the number of artifacts you control." Thirteen cards Sentence, from Hal Jordan, Gold-Bullet Gunman and Katma Tui to Gold-Painted Bullets, Be Without Fear and Dispensed With. Three artifacts reach the three-drops; eight reach almost anything.
• Hard-Light Construct: the fuel — a 2/2 green Construct artifact creature token. Jo builds one every combat, and Willpower Made Solid, Light Made Solid, Kilowog, John Stewart, Jessica Cruz and The Crater on Main Street build more. Mana rocks and Equipment count too.
• The planeswalker: Abin Sur, Judge of Evergreen can be your commander. +1 creates a Hard-Light Construct; −3 is a Sentence; −8 gives you an emblem that Sentences at the beginning of your upkeep.
• Paid for every exile: Re of Xudar, Thief of Rao deals 2 damage to the exiled creature's controller, The Stasis Chambers builds a Construct, Cameron Chase, D.E.O. Agent draws a card, The Diner at Dawn draws two at your end step, Salaak scries and the Ain Initiate grows.

Why Simic

Green is the will made solid: the constructs, the ramp across the desert, Guy Gardner's body turned into a weapon. Blue is judgment and understanding: the stasis chambers, the D.E.O., Hammond's salvage lab and a counterspell held back. The same number runs the whole deck: Rac Shade, Overseer of Rann stops creatures under your artifact count from blocking, The Dome Over Evergreen stops them from attacking you, Jonny Double bounces one, Guy Gardner, Ain of Rao gets +1/+0 for each artifact you control and Mogo costs {1} less per artifact before it Sentences twice.

The 24-Carat Wedding Bands, Lantern Fragment, Shard of the Green Lantern, The Mine Lamp of Evergreen and Carol Ferris ramp; Chosen by an Abin and Steven Dayton, Mento tutor; Gold Is the Weakness and Rita's Gold-Loaded Revolver add removal; Restraint from Action counters; Hector Hammond, Total Understanding and Hal Jordan, Bearer of the Magenta Flame draw. The Judgment of Evergreen is the only sweeper and exiles all creatures that aren't artifacts, so your Constructs stay — cast Jo Shares the Flame first in the same turn and every creature you control counts as an artifact. Two combos: Todd Rice, Evergreen Barista with Jessica Cruz, Answer to the Flame makes unlimited green mana for a huge Willpower Made Solid; The Ring Box imprinting Correct Action, with The 24-Carat Wedding Bands and another mana rock, untaps everything again and again so Jo can Sentence each creature an opponent controls.
