Premium−70%Alan Wake — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-AWK-100
Alan Wake, the Writer leads an Azorius (white/blue) Commander deck where the light switches on at your side of the table: shine puts a light counter on one of your permanents, and while it has one it's lit and its "Lit —" line wakes up. Alan shines every combat, each lit attacker taps a defender, and each lit creature that connects tears a page from the manuscript — a card.
Alan Wake — The Light Burns the Dark
Commanded by Alan Wake, the Writer, this Azorius (white/blue) 100-Card Commander Deck draws on Remedy's Alan Wake and Alan Wake II. A bestselling novelist with writer's block takes his wife Alice on holiday to Bright Falls, a forest town in the Pacific Northwest; she vanishes into Cauldron Lake. A week later he wakes in a crashed car with no memory of that week and finds, scattered through the woods, pages of a horror manuscript he doesn't remember writing, signed with his name, describing what's about to happen. And it does. The townspeople are Taken — wrapped in shadow that bullets can't touch until a flashlight beam burns it away. The cast includes Alice Wake, Barry Wheeler, Sheriff Sarah Breaker, Agent Nightingale, Dr. Hartman, Cynthia Weaver, Thomas Zane, the Old Gods of Asgard, Saga Anderson, Alex Casey and Mr. Door.
- Shine and Lit: one sentence — "shine. (Put a light counter on target permanent you control. While it has a light counter on it, it's lit.)" Each card then prints a "Lit —" line with a real Magic keyword: Barry can't be blocked, Saga gains first strike and exiles what she damages, Alex Casey gets double strike, Thomas Zane flies; lit artifacts and lands unlock a second ability — Cauldron Lake taps for {W}{U}, Searchlight Tower makes opposing creatures enter tapped, The Typewriter drains on each shine.
- The Writer in four lines: vigilance; shine at the beginning of combat on your turn; whenever a lit creature you control attacks, tap target creature defending player controls — the beam freezes a Taken; whenever a lit creature deals combat damage to a player, draw a card.
- The light never wears out: nothing counts or spends light counters; only The Angel Lamp and the Oceanview Hotel move one. Coffee Thermos tokens shine for {1}. Fifty-six cards carry or read the mechanic.
Why Azorius
White is light itself — flashlights, flares, streetlight safe havens, the sheriff's office and a town that keeps its festival. Blue is the Writer — words that rewrite reality, a lake that is an ocean, the FBI, the pages. No black: the Dark Presence is what this deck fights. Two combos close the game: Encore at the Anderson Farm with Sword of Feast and Famine and five lands takes unlimited combats, and Basalt Monolith with Rings of Brighthearth makes unlimited mana for The Typewriter to drain on every shine. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Azorius Signet, Talisman of Progress and Portable Generator ramp; A Page of the Manuscript tutors; Burned Away by the Light, Flashbang Grenade and Flare Gun remove threats; It's Not a Lake, It's an Ocean counters; Dawn Over Cauldron Lake exiles every creature that isn't lit; Night Springs Rerun and The Mind Place draw; Safe Haven Streetlight protects.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
