A fully custom Back to the Future Magic proxy Commander deck, ready to play straight out of the envelope: 100 proxy cards with original artworks inspired by the Back to the Future trilogy — four eras of Hill Valley in one box, 1985, 1955, 2015 and 1885. This is an Izzet (U/R) time-travel deck with Marty McFly and Dr. Emmett Brown as partner commanders, built on one idea: don't hit them now — hit them later, much harder.

Targeted power level: Bracket 4 — three infinite combos, fast mana and a full tutor package, with real blue-red interaction on top.

Deck Strategy

Everything revolves around Rift, the deck's original mechanic: instead of dealing damage to an opponent now, you may open a quantum rift — a token enchantment carrying that many time counters. At the beginning of your upkeep it doubles. Any player may pay {2} to close it before it goes off, and you may crack it at any moment to deal damage equal to its counters.

So 1 damage you decline today is 2 next turn, then 4, then 8, then 16. Opponents must either bleed mana closing your rifts every single turn or watch the debt compound until it kills them — and this deck opens far more rifts than anyone can afford to close. Three pillars hold it together:

• "Doc multiplies it" — Dr. Emmett Brown converts all damage from your sources into rifts and makes closing them cost opponents {2} more. The Flux Capacitor doubles them a second time each upkeep, and One Point Twenty-One Gigawatts doubles them at instant speed.
• "Marty cashes it" — he opens a rift on every attack and refills your hand every time you crack one, while the DeLorean, the Locomotive and Griff Tannen keep the rifts coming.
• "Three infinite combos" — Dualcaster Mage + Ghostly Flicker + Einstein turns infinite blinks into infinite rifts, Underworld Breach + Lion's Eye Diamond + Brain Freeze mills the whole table, and the all-custom Mr. Fusion + 88 Miles Per Hour loop makes infinite damage and infinite mana.

Original Mechanics

• Rift — delayed damage that compounds. A tax on every opponent's mana, every turn, forever.
• Partner commanders — Marty is the clock, Doc is the multiplier; either one alone is a threat, together they are the engine.
• Four eras — 1985, 1955, 2015 and 1885 each get their own lands, characters and machines.
• Alternate 1985 — turn every rift into damage to each opponent at once.
• Bracket 4 toolkit — Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Ancient Tomb, Lion's Eye Diamond, Mystical Tutor, Gamble, Fierce Guardianship, Deflecting Swat, Swan Song, Chaos Warp, Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora and more; around 2.6 average mana value with 35 lands.
