Premium−70%Beowulf — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-BWF-100
Beowulf, Geat Champion leads this Beowulf Naya (red/green/white) Commander deck. He grants every creature you control a one-mana Boast that adds a +1/+1 counter after it has attacked, and draws whenever you activate a Boast ability. Bracket 4.
Beowulf: an attack earns the right to boast
Beowulf, Geat Champion leads a Naya (red/green/white) Commander deck that turns the heroic boasts of the poem into actions on the battlefield. Each creature you control gains a Boast ability costing one generic mana to put a +1/+1 counter on itself. That ability can be activated only if the creature attacked this turn and only once each turn. Beowulf then draws a card whenever you activate a Boast ability, linking the attack to growth and fresh resources.
- BOAST: A Boast ability can be activated only if its creature attacked this turn and only once each turn. Pay its printed activation cost to receive its effect.
- THE GEAT CHAMPION: Beowulf, Geat Champion has vigilance and trample, gives your creatures a one-mana Boast that adds a +1/+1 counter, and draws a card whenever you activate a Boast ability.
- WIGLAF'S SUPPORT: Wiglaf, Son of Weohstan untaps the creature whose Boast you activate and gives it indestructible until end of turn.
- THE HALL PROVIDES: Hrothgar, King of the Danes creates a Treasure whenever you activate Boast. Wealhtheow, Queen of the Danes reduces your Boast activation costs by one generic mana and places a +1/+1 counter at the beginning of your combat.
Plan the mana as carefully as the attack
The deck asks you to leave resources available after declaring attackers. A creature only needs to have attacked that turn to qualify, so a Boast can be useful during combat or afterward while the creature remains available. Beowulf's granted ability is separate from any Boast already printed on that creature, and each ability keeps its own once-per-turn restriction. That creates choices between simple growth and the more specialized effects on individual heroes.
Unferth, Son of Ecglaf can boast to deal 2 damage to any target, while Sigemund, the Dragon-Slayer can boast to destroy an artifact or a creature with flying. Hygelac, King of the Geats gives your other creatures haste and offers a temporary power bonus through his own Boast. This Beowulf Magic Proxy deck suits players who enjoy active creature combat, with the mead-hall cast turning successful commitment into counters, cards and support for the next charge.
A 100-card Commander deck plus 4 tokens, with the existing Bracket 4 designation.
Fan-made proxy — not intended for official tournaments
