This is recursion WITH AN EXPIRY DATE, and it runs out of the GRAVEYARD, not out of exile. Exile is not the shelter here, it is the ending: a creature nobody feeds counters to is gone for good in three of your upkeeps. You buy time back by remembering — playing a card bearing the name, revealing a photograph, tapping Mamá Coco.
Ofrenda: whenever a creature you control dies, put a photo counter on this.
