Dandadan — Possessed

Led by the partners Ken "Okarun" Takakura, Turbo Granny's Host and Momo Ayase, Psychic Medium, this Jeskai (red/white/blue) 100-Card Commander Deck starts with a bet: Momo believes in ghosts but not aliens, Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts. Momo is abducted by the Serpoians, Okarun is cursed in a tunnel by Turbo Granny — both were right. Momo's psychic powers awaken; Okarun is possessed by the granny and becomes a white-haired blur faster than a car. In this series a defeated yōkai or alien doesn't vanish: it ends up in a lucky cat figurine, in a classmate, or on the team. The cast includes Turbo Granny, Seiko Ayase, Aira Shiratori and Acrobatic Silky, Jiji and Evil Eye, Kinta Sakata, Vamola and Rin Sawaki, with Japanese yōkai and Western cryptids from the Kappa and Teke Teke to Mothman.

• Possess: "Put a possession counter on target creature you control. A creature with a possession counter on it is Possessed: it gets +2/+2 and has haste." One binary counter: Possessed or not.
• The plan in one line: Okarun possesses whenever a creature an opponent controls dies, and the deck's own yōkai and aliens — Turbo Granny, Evil Eye, Silky, Teke Teke, Mothman — say "when this dies, Possess".
• Possessed creatures you control… Momo taps a blocker for each Possessed attacker, Aira gives them flying, Seiko vigilance and lifelink, Jiji draws, Ultra-Speed Dash gives double strike, and Exorcism of the Cursed House destroys everything that isn't Possessed. Forty-seven cards carry or read the mechanic.

Why Jeskai

Red is Okarun and Turbo Granny — speed, haste, a curse that runs. White is the Ayase shrine — Seiko's exorcisms, salt circles and the show's stubborn kindness toward defeated enemies. Blue is Momo's psychokinesis and alien technology. Two combos close the game: The Serpoian Cloning Master with Serpoian Abductor makes unlimited hasty fliers, and Isochron Scepter with Dramatic Reversal and three artifact mana feeds Momo's Psychokinetic Crush for X. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Izzet Signet, Talisman of Conviction and The Maneki-Neko ramp; Seiko's Divination tutors; Seiko's Exorcism, Blue Flame of Evil Eye and The Men in Black remove threats; Barrier of the Ayase Shrine counters; The Occult Research Club draws; Lightning Greaves protects.
