Premium−70%Doctor Who — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-DRW-100
The Doctor leads an Izzet (blue/red) Commander deck about a man who neither dies nor kills: each death is a Regeneration that unlocks a new line of his thirteen-row card, and every threat is displaced into the time vortex by the TARDIS instead of destroyed.
Doctor Who — Thirteen Faces
Commanded by The Doctor alone, last of the Time Lords, this Izzet (blue/red) 100-Card Commander Deck adds twenty-four colorless cards — Daleks, Cybermen, Autons, Clockwork Droids, the Weeping Angels, K-9, the Eye of Harmony, the Moment, the Pandorica and the TARDIS. It follows a man who doesn't die and doesn't kill: when he is killed he returns with another face, and when he wins a fight he destroys almost nothing — he puts it somewhere else in time and leaves before it comes back.
- Regeneration: if The Doctor would die, you get an incarnation counter instead, all damage is removed from him and he taps. With thirteen counters, Regeneration stops. The counters sit on you, not on the card, and twenty-four cards read them.
- Thirteen lines: his card prints a table, I to XIII, and he only has the row matching your incarnation — I scries 2, IV draws on attack, VI gets menace and deals 2, VII displaces, X draws on every displace, XI moves every vortex counter, XIII untaps an artifact. The deck chooses its face: The Sisterhood of Karn and River Song remove counters, The War Doctor and Rassilon add them, Jamie McCrimmon works at five or fewer, Rose Tyler at nine or ten, Martha Jones and Donna Noble at ten or more, The Eye of Harmony gives three mana for every new face, and The Day of the Doctor gives him every line at once.
- The TARDIS: tap to displace a nonland permanent or spell — it is exiled with one, two or three vortex counters, loses one at each upkeep, and returns to its owner when the last is gone. Thirteen cards print it and twelve more read or move the counters: Handles and Wibbly-Wobbly, Timey-Wimey add or remove them, The Silence and The Medusa Cascade push an opponent's card further away, The Pandorica freezes them, Missy steals what comes back.
Why Izzet
Blue is time, knowledge and the vortex; red is the restless energy of a man who never stops running and the fire of each regeneration. Two combos close the game: The Doctor, The Sisterhood of Karn and The Eye of Harmony loop regenerations for unbounded mana and incarnation triggers, and The Sonic Screwdriver with Reverse the Polarity imprinted makes unbounded mana that sends the whole opposing board into the vortex. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Izzet Signet, Talisman of Creativity and Adipose ramp; Bigger on the Inside tutors; Exterminate!, Lost in the Vortex and Rewrite the Timeline remove; The Moment and The Fires of Pompeii sweep; The Matrix of Gallifrey, Rassilon, Clara Oswald and The Library draw. The lands are the places: Gallifrey, Skaro, Trenzalore, Bad Wolf Bay, Mondas and Coal Hill School.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 4 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
