The Spice and the Worm
SKU DUNE-CARD-105
The Spice and the Worm — Token card from the DUNE Commander deck (The Spice Must Flow).
The Spice and the Worm
Type: Token
Rarity: Token
Mana Cost: —
Color Identity: Colorless
Reminder card. Spice (This land enters with two spice counters on it. Harvest — Tap an untapped creature you control and remove a spice counter from a land you control: Add one mana of any color and scry 1. That land gets a thumper counter and the creature stays on it until it untaps. At three thumper counters Shai-Hulud devours that land and every creature on it.)
What is different about this one: the melange is on the SURFACE, in the open, and taking it is what calls the predator. Every harvest is a mana ability that also winds the clock on the land it came from, and the third turn of that clock destroys the land and every creature standing on it. Nothing here rewards going deeper — there is no deeper. The whole risk is in reaching down and picking it up.
Prescience (You play with your hand revealed. As long as you do, spells you control can't be countered and you may look at the top card of each opponent's library at any time.)
Prescience is not a bonus, it is a trade. You show the table everything you are holding, permanently, and in exchange nothing you cast can be answered on the stack and you read the top of every library. You are playing a game in which everyone can see your plan and nobody can stop it.
“He who can destroy a thing has real control of it. The Guild reads the same futures and has decided, so far, that the arithmetic favours letting him.”
Single card from the DUNE (The Spice Must Flow) Commander deck. Sold individually.
Fan-made proxy — not intended for official tournaments
