Reminder card. SHIELDS N: prevent the next N damage that would be dealt to this creature each turn. At the beginning of your upkeep, if this creature wasn't dealt damage since your last turn, restore its shields to N.

The first sentence is the shield doing its job inside a turn. The second is the RECHARGE, and it is the whole deck: the moment something actually gets through, the shield is down and stays down, and it only comes back to full at an upkeep of yours that follows a full round in which the table left this creature alone. Being ignored is the resource.

This is not beskar. Nothing here is transferred from one body to another, nothing is spent down to zero for good, and no counter is ever forged. A shield belongs to the creature it is printed on, it is never moved, and it is never used up permanently — it is knocked down and it comes back, and whether it comes back is decided by what the table did to you last turn, not by what you paid.

THE RING: 5, T, sacrifice this land, choose a creature type, exile each creature of that type. Every creature of the chosen type, on every battlefield. Yours are not exempt.

“Ask yourself: what kind of weapon solves a problem by removing everything the problem could ever live in?”
