The Museum and the Whip
SKU INDIANAJONES-CARD-105
The Museum and the Whip — Token card from the INDIANA JONES Commander deck (It Belongs in a Museum).
The Museum and the Whip
Type: Token
Rarity: Token
Mana Cost: —
Color Identity: Colorless
Reminder card. IT BELONGS IN A MUSEUM: a Relic you bring back never reaches the battlefield. If it would enter the battlefield, it is exiled face up in your Museum instead, where it can't be cast, activated, attached, sacrificed or moved — and where its Exhibit ability applies for the rest of the game. The reward is the object being SAFE, not the object being used. If any player ever activates an ability of a Relic on the battlefield, the Museum burns: every card in it goes to its owner's graveyard and you lose 2 life for each.
This is the opposite of the Trail (Uncharted, set 46). There the cards are face DOWN, unknown, set aside at the start of the game, and every one you turn over is PLAYED for free. Here the Museum starts EMPTY, fills with cards you paid for, sits face UP where everyone can read it, and nothing in it is ever cast.
THE WHIP: equipped creature has ",
: Choose one — put target artifact or creature card from a graveyard onto the battlefield tapped under your control; or gain control of target permanent an opponent controls until end of turn, untap it and it gains haste; or put target card from your Museum onto the battlefield." Note the last mode carefully: a Relic put onto the battlefield this way is immediately exiled back into your Museum by its own replacement effect. The whip cannot take it off the pedestal, and that is the loop the deck is built on.
“The find is not the reward. The case is the reward.”
Single card from the INDIANA JONES (It Belongs in a Museum) Commander deck. Sold individually.
Fan-made proxy — not intended for official tournaments
