Four disciplines, four colours, and no black: in this world even the Fire Lord is redeemable, nobody is beyond saving, and the one thing the hero absolutely refuses to do is kill. Black would be a moral contradiction, not a deckbuilding constraint. A bending spell is a technique, not a resource — you can hold the mana all game and still be unable to cast it, because what you are missing is a teacher.
THE AVATAR STATE. The Avatar State 
(Activate only during your turn and only once each turn. Until end of turn, this creature gets +7/+7 and gains flying, trample, haste and vigilance, and it's an Airbender, a Waterbender, a Firebender and an Earthbender in addition to its other types. If it would die or be put into exile while it's in the Avatar State, exile it instead and it can't be cast for the rest of the game — not from the command zone, not from anywhere, by any effect. The cycle is broken. There is no next Avatar.)
This is the only permanent commander restriction in the multiverse. Every other deck gets its commander back. If Aang dies in the Avatar State, the cycle is broken and he is gone for the rest of the game.
