Reminder card. The One Ring: its bearer can't be blocked and can't be targeted. Each use puts a burden counter on the bearer. At five burden counters, exile the bearer and the opponent to your left gains control of The One Ring. It is a loan, not a possession — there is no safe number of uses, only a decision about who gets it next.

The Fellowship: while the Fellowship is unbroken, each creature with it gets +1/+1 for each other creature you control with the Fellowship. The first time a creature with the Fellowship leaves the battlefield, the Fellowship is broken for the rest of the game and can never be reformed. While the Fellowship is broken, each creature with it gets +2/+2 and has vigilance.

The switch is thrown once per game and nothing puts it back. Gandalf the White explicitly does not have the Fellowship, and Rohan does not ride until it is broken.
