Worship and the Thunderbolt
SKU OLYMPUS-CARD-104
Worship and the Thunderbolt — Token card from the OLYMPUS Commander deck (The Twelve).
Worship and the Thunderbolt
Type: Token
Rarity: Token
Mana Cost: —
Color Identity: Colorless
Reminder card. Worship: a God with no favor counter on it is not a creature. It is an inert enchantment on the battlefield: it can't attack, can't block, and can't be targeted as a creature. Pledge a mortal you control — any creature that isn't a God: tap it; it doesn't untap during your next untap step — to put a favor counter on target God you control. A God left with no favor counters is a statue again.
So a statue is immune to creature removal and to every wrath in the format, and it does absolutely nothing. The cost of switching it on is paid in PEOPLE: a pledged mortal is tapped and skips your next untap step, so it is not there to block on the way back round. Neglect is not your loss of life, it is the card's: strip the last favor counter off an 8/8 mid-combat and it is marble again.
The Thunderbolt: equipped creature has ': Destroy target permanent. Activate only once each turn.' Its bearer's controller is the enemy of every other God — while this Equipment is attached, each God your opponents control may attack that player even with no favor counter on it, and it's a creature with its printed power and toughness for as long as it does.
“The arrangement on that mountain is not affection and it is not law. It is a maintenance contract, and the party holding the weapon renegotiates it whenever it likes.”
Single card from the OLYMPUS (The Twelve) Commander deck. Sold individually.
Fan-made proxy — not intended for official tournaments
