Premium−70%Ozark — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-OZK-100
Marty Byrde, the Launderer leads a Sultai (green/blue/black) Commander deck where Treasures are dirty money: Launder sacrifices a Treasure to put a clean counter on a permanent, and the money stops being spendable and becomes a business. Marty makes a Treasure every upkeep, every launder drains 1 life from each opponent, and everything clean has hexproof.
Ozark — Launder
Commanded by Marty Byrde, the Launderer, this Sultai (green/blue/black) 100-Card Commander Deck follows a Chicago financial adviser whose partner stole from a Mexican cartel. He saves his own life on a warehouse floor by promising to launder eight million dollars in ninety days — at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, a place he has only seen in a brochure. He moves his family there and buys every cash business on the lake: a lodge, a strip club, a funeral home, a church on a barge, then a floating casino. Around him: Wendy, who turns out to be better at it than he is; Ruth Langmore, the local thief turned his manager; the Snells, who grow poppies and hate outsiders; the Navarro cartel; and the FBI.
- Launder: word for word on seventeen permanents — "Launder (Sacrifice a Treasure: Put a clean counter on this.)" Treasures are the dirty money, and the deck makes a lot of them; laundering turns one into a clean counter on a business. The counter never leaves.
- Marty in four lines: a Treasure at the beginning of your upkeep, the Launder ability, a 1-life drain from each opponent whenever you launder, and hexproof for every permanent you control with a clean counter — clean money can't be touched.
- The businesses read it: Ruth and the bait-shop owner grow per counter, Clare Shaw makes a mana per counter, the Shell Company and the Blue Cat Lodge tap for any colour once clean, Rachel, the Offshore Account, Charlotte and Helen draw, the Missouri Belle drains each end step, and Navarro Cleans House destroys every creature without a clean counter. Proliferate grows the accounts.
Why Sultai
Blue is Marty — the numbers, the shell companies, the lawyer, the talking. Black is the cartel — the source of the money, the enforcers, what sinks to the bottom of the lake. Green is the Ozarks — the land, the poppy fields, the lake businesses where the money finally takes root. No white: the law is for sale here. Two combos close the game: Marty with Omar Navarro, Cartel Boss and one Treasure launders and drains without limit while Clare Shaw makes infinite mana, and Wendy Byrde, Political Operative with The Byrde Family Foundation turns any life loss into an endless drain. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Golgari Signet, Talisman of Dominance and The Count Room ramp; Marty Runs the Numbers tutors; Cartel Hit, Drowned in the Lake and Fire at Lickety Splitz remove threats; Plead the Fifth counters; Navarro Cleans House sweeps; The Eight Million and Helen Pierce draw.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
