Parasyte — Symbiosis

Commanded by Shinichi Izumi and Migi, this Simic (green/blue) 100-Card Commander Deck follows the night tennis-ball-sized spores came in from the sea and crawled into sleepers' ears, each one taking the body and waking with one sentence in mind: kill this species. One of them misses. Seventeen-year-old Shinichi is wearing earphones; the spore enters his right arm, and by morning his right hand is called Migi — a cold, curious, perfectly rational tenant with an eye, a mouth and blades. Neither survives without the other, so they make a deal. Around them stand Reiko Tamura, Gotou, Mr. A, Hideo Shimada, Uda and Joe, Kana Kimishima, Satomi Murano, Mayor Hirokawa and Mitsuyo, the old potter who hides him in the mountains.

• Symbiosis: word for word on sixteen creatures and the Parasite token — "Attach this to target Human you control, or unattach it. Activate only as a sorcery. While attached, this isn't a creature, and that Human adds this card's power and toughness and has its other abilities."
• The commander in four lines: reach; at the beginning of combat on your turn, attach another Parasite to a Human for free; whenever a Parasite becomes attached to a Human you control, that Human gets a +1/+1 counter, and the first time each turn you draw a card.
• Mixed cells: the reward isn't the attachment but the move — every Human touched keeps its counter forever, and the Parasite moves on. One counter to track, 17 Humans, 16 Parasites and 36 cards that carry or read the mechanic.

Why Simic

Green is the body — flesh that grows, adapts and hardens, the fight in the forest. Blue is Migi — a mind without emotion that reads every book in the house, calculates and keeps watch while the boy sleeps, and the parasites' disguises. No black: the parasites aren't evil, they're hungry. Two combos close the game: Reiko Tamura makes her own Symbiosis free, and with Gotou every attachment drains each opponent without limit; Mitsuyo, the Village Potter with Migi Keeps Watch makes unlimited mana for Mixed Cells. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Simic Signet and Talisman of Curiosity ramp; The Signal Between Parasites and Survival of the Species tutor; Kill This Species, Migi's Blades and The Battle in the Forest remove threats; Migi Saw It Coming and Reiko's Calculation counter; The Extermination at City Hall sweeps every creature that isn't a Human carrying a Parasite; The Books Migi Reads draws.
