Premium−70%Pulp Fiction — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-PLP-100
Jules Winnfield, Walking the Earth and Vincent Vega, Dead Man Walking lead a Rakdos (black/red) Commander deck told out of order: every card carries a chapter, later chapters switch on the earlier ones, and a legendary Briefcase that does nothing changes hands with every hit.
Pulp Fiction — The Story Told Backwards
Commanded by the partners Jules Winnfield, Walking the Earth and Vincent Vega, Dead Man Walking, this Rakdos (black/red) 100-Card Commander Deck follows the 1994 film: two hitmen sent to recover a briefcase for Marsellus Wallace, the boss's wife out for dinner, a boxer who won't go down, a coffee-shop holdup, and a man in a tuxedo who arrives at dawn to make a problem disappear. Nothing is told in order — the film opens and closes in the same diner on the same morning — and the object everyone fights over is never shown. The deck is those two ideas and nothing else.
- Out of Order: sixty-six cards carry a chapter from 1 (the Prologue at the diner) to 5 (the Epilogue at the same diner), and thirty-two print an Out of Order bonus that is on while you control or have in your graveyard a card with a higher chapter. A chapter 1 card is almost always out of order; chapter 5 cards never are — they switch the rest on. Mia Wallace, Le Big Mac, Jody and Vincent's Malibu fill the graveyard with chapters, Winston Wolf and Fifteen Minutes Earlier bring them back, and Personality Goes a Long Way draws a card for each different chapter in your graveyard.
- The Briefcase: thirteen cards take it and eighteen read it. It is a legendary artifact token with no abilities of its own — whatever is inside is never revealed — and whoever deals combat damage to its controller takes it. Marsellus Wallace gives your other creatures +1/+0 and menace while you hold it, Jimmie Dimmick draws, Uncomfortable Silences drains, and Ezekiel 25:17 and Divine Intervention pay extra.
- Two partners: Jules takes the Briefcase whenever he attacks and, while you hold it, deals 3 damage to a creature an opponent controls at the beginning of each combat on your turn. Vincent has indestructible while he is out of order and draws a card whenever you cast an out-of-order spell; Epilogue: The Diner makes those spells cost {1} less.
Why Rakdos
Black is Marsellus's organization — the payroll, the debts, the fixed fight, the man who cleans up. Red is the morning when everything goes wrong at once — the dance contest, the chopper, the sword taken off the pawnshop wall. Two combos finish the game: Yolanda, Honey Bunny copying the Hawthorne Grill Waitress makes unbounded hasty tokens while Ringo, Pumpkin drains each opponent for every one, and Marsellus Wallace, the Big Man with The Combination 666 hands the Briefcase to an opponent and takes it straight back for unbounded life loss without mana. Sol Ring, Arcane Signet, Rakdos Signet and Talisman of Indulgence ramp; Demonic Tutor and Call the Wolf tutor; Ezekiel 25:17, Zed's Dead and Pride Only Hurts remove threats; The Bonnie Situation is the single sweeper; The Twist Contest and Vincent himself keep the cards coming.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
