Sons of Anarchy — Mayhem or Mercy

Commanded by Jax Teller, President of SAMCRO, this Rakdos (black/red) 100-Card Commander Deck follows seven seasons of a motorcycle club in a small Northern California town that settles everything — business, betrayals, who stays and who goes — around one redwood table, by a vote. Jax inherits the gavel, his late father's manuscript and his stepfather's mistakes, and spends the whole story trying to make the table vote the way he needs. Around him: Clay, Gemma, Opie, Chibs, Tig, Happy, Juice, Bobby, Piney, Half-Sack and Kozik, with Tara, Unser, Chuckie and Lowell close by, rival and allied crews from the Mayans to the Grim Bastards, and Agent Stahl, Damon Pope, Lee Toric and August Marks on their trail.

• Patched: printed on sixteen cards. Patch In puts a patch counter on a creature; a Patched creature gets +1/+1 and has menace, and whenever you sacrifice one you lose 2 life. About twenty cards read it: Gemma draws when a member dies, Damon Pope makes each opponent sacrifice a creature, Clay makes each opponent lose 2 life whenever you sacrifice one, Nero and The Life and Death of Sam Crow draw, and The Club Bylaws returns two Prospect tokens. In a deck that wants to sacrifice, every brother weighed against 2 life is a real decision.
• Mayhem Vote: printed on nine cards. Starting with you, each player votes for Mayhem or Mercy; you get an additional vote for each Patched creature you control, the option with the most votes wins, and ties go to you. Clay votes every upkeep, Mr. Mayhem destroys every creature that isn't Patched, The Redwood Table destroys or draws, and both outcomes always pay — the vote only decides which way.
• A rigged table: Jax adds two votes and makes each opponent on the losing side lose 2 life; The Redwood Table makes each patch worth two votes; The Gavel and Stacked Ballot add more; Gemma changes one opponent's vote before the count; Chibs patches a member before votes are cast; August Marks makes Mercy voters sacrifice; Agent Stahl draws on every Mercy vote.

Why Rakdos

Black is the club's paperwork — the charter, the bylaws, the vote behind a closed door, a mother who decides every ballot the night before. Red is the road — the bikes, the garage, the brothers who ride first and ask later. Two combos close the game: Mother's Law + Bad Blood turns any life gain or loss into a loop that ends the table, and Happy Lowman + Nomad Charter Enforcer copy each other into unbounded hasty attackers, with unbounded mana through Teller-Morrow Car Crusher.
