Supernatural Commander Deck · 100 Card Proxy MTG EDH (Saving People, Hunting Things)

100% custom Supernatural Magic proxy Commander deck: two brothers, one car and a family business nobody chose. Winchester is the original mechanic — when a creature dies with no resurrection counter on it, it comes back tapped at the next end step with one, and half the deck reads that counter. Dean gives every other creature winchester and turns anything carrying a counter into a +2/+0 menace threat; Sam hunts every upkeep, naming a creature type that your removal, pumps and draw suddenly care about. Death, Lucifer, Crowley, Castiel and Chuck are all in the box, plus the Colt and the Impala. Mardu (W/B/R), Bracket 4, two infinite combos. Supernatural Commander Deck · 100 Proxy Cards · MTG EDH · Saving People, Hunting Things

A fully custom Supernatural Magic proxy Commander deck, ready to play straight out of the envelope: 100 proxy cards with original artworks, built around two brothers, one car and a family business nobody chose. This is a three-colour Mardu (W/B/R) deck led by the partner commanders Sam Winchester, Man of Letters and Dean Winchester, the Righteous Man.

Why Mardu? White is the family: the code, the oath, the people you save, the angels, the promise to come back. Black is the price: every deal at every crossroads, Hell, the demon blood, the brother you sell yourself for. Red is Dean — the punch first, the rock salt, the pyre, the car at ninety. There is no green, because nothing in this world grows back on its own, and no blue, because these men have never once had a plan that survived contact.

Targeted power level: Bracket 4 — two infinite combos, fast mana (Sol Ring, Mana Crypt, Arcane Signet, Ancient Tomb), Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor, and Toxic Deluge as a wrath that half your board simply stands back up from at the next end step.

Deck Strategy

The whole deck is one sentence: death is a door, not a wall — but it only opens once per person.

Winchester is the original mechanic: "When this creature dies, if it had no resurrection counter on it, return it to the battlefield tapped with a resurrection counter on it at the beginning of the next end step." Note what it is not. It is not indestructible and it is not protection: the creature really dies, every "when this dies" trigger fires, and the body is only back at the next end step, a whole combat later. The resurrection counter is the design — a permanent record on the card that this person has already used their one return — and half the deck reads it. Castiel returns a card with a counter on it straight from the graveyard, Bobby's Panic Room gives everything carrying one hexproof, The First Blade puts one on a creature that connects, and Angel Radio buys a counter back off a creature for 1 life so it can die usefully again.

The hunt is the second mechanic: "Hunt (Choose a creature type. Until you choose another, that type is hunted.)" The brothers do not fight everything at once, they work a case. The hunted type is one global designation the deck sets and re-sets, and about a third of the cards care about it: Exorcizamus Te destroys a creature and, if it was hunted, draws and hunts again; Rock Salt and Iron deals 4 to a hunted creature or 2 to anything else; Salt and Burn the Bones exiles every graveyard, hunts, then destroys every creature of the named type; The Demon Tablet taps to hunt and can be cracked for -3/-3 on the whole type. Choosing badly is a real cost, and the table watches you choose.

  • The asymmetry between the brothers is the deck. Sam hunts when he enters and on every upkeep, and turns hunted deaths into cards: draw a card and each opponent loses 1 life. Dean gives every other creature you control winchester, and creatures with resurrection counters on them get +2/+0 and menace — a man who has already been to Hell has nothing left to be careful about. Sam alone is slow attrition; Dean alone is resilient bodies with no cards.
  • The cast — Bobby Singer, Castiel, Jack Kline, John and Mary Winchester, Adam, Jody Mills, Donna, Claire, Ellen and Jo Harvelle, Ash, Rufus, Charlie Bradbury, Kevin Tran, Garth, Missouri Moseley and Benny, against Meg, Ruby, Rowena, Gabriel, Balthazar, Zachariah, Naomi, Metatron, Michael, Crowley, Azazel, Lilith, Alastair, Abaddon, Lucifer, Eve, Amara, Death the Pale Horseman, and Chuck Shurley, who has been writing the whole thing down.
  • The arsenal — the Colt destroys a creature so that it cannot be regenerated and cannot return that turn, Ruby's Knife taps to kill anything of the hunted type, an Angel Blade and the First Blade equip the hunters, and the Impala crews for 2 and puts a resurrection counter on everyone who crewed it. Devil's Trap is the answer to the mirror: the enchanted creature cannot attack, block or activate abilities, and it loses winchester.
  • Two infinite combos. Mystery Spot + Bobby Singer, Idjit Whisperer: the Spot makes winchester return the creature immediately and without a counter, Bobby sacrifices another creature for free to drain each opponent for 1 and gain 1 — so with any third winchester creature on board, sacrifice, return, sacrifice, return, until the table is dead. It is the premise of the episode written as a two-card kill. Shapeshifter Nest + Bobby Singer: the Nest makes your tokens every creature type, so they are always the hunted type, and every hunted creature that dies makes another 2/2 Shapeshifter — feed them to Bobby one at a time, forever.

Thirty-five lands, and they are the places rather than a mana base: Singer Salvage Yard, the Men of Letters Bunker, the Roadhouse, Purgatory, Stull Cemetery, Crossroads at Midnight, Lawrence Kansas, Devil's Gate Wyoming, Route 66 by Night, Heaven's Waiting Room, the Rack, the Empty, Motel Room Anywhere and Sioux Falls General, behind Command Tower, Nomad Outpost, Savai Triome, Ancient Tomb and Path of Ancestry. Three tokens — Hellhound, Shapeshifter and Vengeful Spirit — come in the box.

Average mana value 3.2, built to grind: the deck expects to lose creatures and counts on it.
