Premium−70%Tekkaman Blade — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-TKB-100
Tekkaman Blade, D-Boy leads a Boros (red/white) Commander deck built on Voltekka: pay the cost, tap the Tekkaman, and it deals damage equal to its power to each creature your opponents control, then takes a -1/-1 counter. The weapon wears out the body, but D-Boy gets +2/+0 for each -1/-1 counter on him and draws a card whenever one of your creatures fires its Voltekka, while the Space Knights in white repair the damage between shots.
Tekkaman Blade — Voltekka
Commanded by Tekkaman Blade, D-Boy, this Boros (red/white) 100-Card Commander Deck comes from the 1992 Tatsunoko anime Tekkaman Blade, known abroad as Teknoman. In 2192 the Aiba family's exploration ship Argos meets an alien hive near Saturn, Radam, which fuses each crew member with a crystal and turns them into a Tekkaman: living armor that fires the Voltekka, a beam that levels a whole battlefield. One fusion is interrupted. Takaya Aiba escapes, falls to Earth with no memory and no name, and the Space Knights call him D-Boy. With the robot Pegas guarding his crystal and the double-bladed Tek-Lancer in hand, he fights the Radam Tekkamen, who are his own family: his twin Shinya as Evil, his older brother Kengo as Omega, his sister Miyuki as Rapier, his teacher Goddard as Axe, plus Fermi, Moroto and Fritz. The cast also includes Aki Kisaragi, Noal Vereuse, Milly, Honda, Levin, Chief Freeman, Balzac Asimov, the Blue Earth and Sol Tekkaman One.
- Voltekka: printed on fifteen creatures, two Equipment and an instant. Pay the Voltekka cost and tap the creature: it deals damage equal to its power to each creature your opponents control, then gets a -1/-1 counter. A one-sided sweeper you can fire again and again, as long as the body holds; each shot is weaker than the last, and the fourth or fifth one kills the Tekkaman unless you repair it.
- The commander: Tekkaman Blade, D-Boy has flying, first strike and Voltekka {4}, draws a card whenever a creature you control fires its Voltekka, and gets +2/+0 for each -1/-1 counter on him: 4/4, then 5/3, 6/2, 7/1. Like the Blaster evolution in the show, the crystal makes him stronger as it destroys him.
- Fires its Voltekka: Takaya Aiba, Blade Blaster deals 2 damage to each opponent, Pegas, the Tek Setter removes a -1/-1 counter, Aki Kisaragi, Space Knight gains you 2 life and puts a +1/+1 counter on the shooter, Noal Vereuse, Ace Pilot creates a flying Human Pilot, Levin, Space Knights Operator scries, Balzac Asimov, Frontline Reporter exiles the top card for you to play, and Space Knights Battle Doctrine grows your other creatures. Voltekka! and Phased Blaster Voltekka fire without paying the cost, and Heinrich von Freeman, Space Knights Chief makes every Voltekka cost {2} less.
- Repair or push: Honda, Chief Mechanic, Space Knights Engineer, Space Knights Field Medic, Space Knights Headquarters, Recovery Ward, Crystal Overload and Between Battles remove or offset the counters; Blaster Evolution gives your creatures +1/+0 for each -1/-1 counter on them, plus trample and haste. Pushing the body or bringing it back is the deck's one decision.
Why Boros
Red is the Voltekka: fire, the sacrificed body, the brothers' rage. White is the Space Knights, an organization that protects the planet and patches the man up between fights. No blue, because there is no mecha engineering to pilot, and no green, because green is Radam, the forest that grows over the cities. Two combos sit in the list. Tekkaman Evil, Shinya Aiba with Space Knights Ground Crew: Evil makes a hasty copy of the Ground Crew, the copy untaps Evil, and you repeat for as many token copies as you want. Tek-Lancer with The Thirty-Minute Battle and five lands: each time the equipped creature connects, your lands untap to pay for another untap of your creatures and another combat, and every untap reloads each Voltekka. Bracket 4 tools: Pegas's Reactor Core, Space Knights Insignia, Space Knights Signal Relay, Space Knights Comm Badge, The UNE War Budget and Orbital Survey ramp; Freeman's Briefing tutors, and D-Boy, the Nameless Stranger fetches an Equipment such as Tek-Lancer; Thrown Lance, Space Knights Containment, Voltekka Clash, Cast Into Orbit and Burn the Radam Forest remove threats; The Orbital Ring Falls is the only sweeper besides the Voltekka itself; Retreat to the Blue Earth and Space Knights Emergency Protocol protect; Milly, Comms Operator, The Repair Clamp, Return from the Argos and Takaya's Last Memory refill the hand.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 3 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
