The Raid and the Saga of the Dead
SKU VIKINGS-CARD-105
The Raid and the Saga of the Dead — Token card from the VIKINGS Commander deck (The Raid).
The Raid and the Saga of the Dead
Type: Token
Rarity: Token
Mana Cost: —
Color Identity: Colorless
Reminder card. The Raid: at the beginning of combat on your turn, choose an opponent who wasn't the target of your last raid. Each creature you control attacks that player this combat if able. If that player is dealt combat damage this combat, search their library for a card, exile it in your hold, then that player shuffles. You may play cards exiled in your hold.
THREE THINGS. It cannot split — the whole board goes at one player, every turn, with nothing held back to block. It cannot repeat — whoever you hit this combat is an illegal target next combat, so the deck walks round the table and the player you just robbed gets one turn of immunity to untap in. And the payment comes out of a LIBRARY: a successful raid is a tutor on somebody else's deck, and what you take goes to your hold, an exile you may play from at your leisure.
The Saga of the Dead: when a creature you control dies while attacking, exile it in your saga. Attacking creatures you control get +1/+0 for each card exiled in your saga. The clause is DIED WHILE ATTACKING — a creature killed by a sweeper or chump-blocking is worth nothing to the saga. Only the ones who died going over the wall get a name cut, and every name makes every later raid bigger, permanently, with no cap.
“The farm was eight acres and there were four sons. Everything after that is arithmetic.”
Single card from the VIKINGS (The Raid) Commander deck. Sold individually.
Fan-made proxy — not intended for official tournaments
