Black Clover — Anti-Magic

Commanded by Asta, the Anti-Magic Knight, this Boros (red/white) 100-Card Commander Deck is set in the Clover Kingdom, where every fifteen-year-old receives a grimoire and magic decides everything. Two orphans from Hage swear to become Wizard King: Yuno receives a four-leaf grimoire, and Asta — without a drop of mana — receives an old black five-leaf grimoire with a devil inside and swords that cut magic. The cast includes Liebe, Yuno, Yami, Nacht Faust, Noelle, Secre, Zora, Luck, Vanessa, Gauche, Magna, Finral, Charmy, Julius Novachrono, Lumiere, Mereoleona, William Vangeance and Mimosa.

• Anti-Magic: printed word for word on every creature that has it — "Whenever an opponent casts a noncreature spell that targets a permanent you control, you may tap this untapped creature. If you do, counter that spell." One sentence, no counter, no gauge. You cut a spell when you counter it with anti-magic.
• Attack or keep the sword raised? Asta answers both: equipped creatures you control have anti-magic and vigilance, and whenever you cut a spell, Asta deals damage equal to its mana value to its controller.
• Twenty-four cards carry or read the mechanic: Liebe puts a +1/+1 counter on each anti-magic creature whenever you cut a spell, Yuno draws, Zora burns, Nacht summons Devils, Yami and Henry untap, Noelle grows, Lumiere gives lifelink.

Why Boros

Red is Asta's body — no mana, ten thousand swings a day, a sword bigger than he is and the refusal to give up. White is the order of the Magic Knights — squads, captains, a Wizard King and an oath sworn in a village church. No blue: Asta casts no spells, his counterspells are swords.
