Premium−70%Die Hard — 100-Card Commander Deck
SKU DECK-DHD-100
John McClane, the Fly in the Ointment leads a Boros (red/white) Commander deck of one man against many: Outgunned gives a creature +1/+0 for each Henchman your opponents control, and your own cards hand them the Henchmen. McClane can't be blocked by Henchmen and draws a card for each Henchman the player he hits controls.
Die Hard — Yippee-Ki-Yay
Commanded by John McClane, the Fly in the Ointment, this Boros (red/white) 100-Card Commander Deck starts on Christmas Eve in Los Angeles: a New York cop visits his wife at her company party on the thirtieth floor of Nakatomi Plaza. He's barefoot in the bathroom when twelve professionals take the building. He's alone, with a pistol and no shoes; they're twelve, then more, and every hour they send another down the stairs to find him. He takes them out one by one, takes their radio, their detonators and their machine gun, and tells their leader on channel nine to call him Roy. Then the same thing happens at Dulles, in Harlem and on Wall Street, in Washington during a fire sale, and in Moscow with his son. The cast includes John McClane three times, Holly Gennero McClane, Sergeant Al Powell, Argyle, Lucy and Jack McClane, Zeus Carver, Matt Farrell, Agent Johnson, Harry Ellis, Hans Gruber, Karl Vreski, Simon Gruber, Colonel Stuart and Thomas Gabriel.
- Outgunned: word for word on twenty-three cards — "This creature gets +1/+0 for each Henchman your opponents control." And its token, word for word: "Target opponent creates a Henchman token. (A Henchman is a 1/1 black Human Mercenary creature token.)" Your cards keep sending bad guys to the other side — and each one makes McClane and the cops beside him more dangerous.
- McClane in five lines: first strike, Outgunned, a Henchman for an opponent at the beginning of each of your combats, can't be blocked by Henchmen, and draws a card for each Henchman the player he hits controls. John McClane, Barefoot on Broken Glass hands out a Henchman whenever he's dealt damage.
- The cops: Holly stops Henchmen from attacking you, Al Powell draws when they arrive, the Analog Cop makes the team unblockable by them, and Twelve Against One gives everyone +X/+0, trample and haste. No counters, no gauge.
Why Boros
Red is improvisation and violence — C-4 down an elevator shaft, a lighter in jet fuel, a car launched at a helicopter. White is the badge — a cop out of his jurisdiction who protects the hostages anyway, the only honest voice on the radio, the wife who negotiates for her staff. No blue: McClane never has a plan; Hans has the blueprints. Two combos close the game: Karl Vreski with Now I Have a Machine Gun, Ho-Ho-Ho turns each Henchman into damage to its controller without limit, and Zeus Carver with Special Agent Johnson makes unlimited hasty creatures. Holly's Rolex, NYPD Detective's Shield, The Zippo Lighter, The Police Scanner and The Bearer Bonds ramp; Call Me Roy tutors; Welcome to the Party, Pal, Fire Sale and C-4 Down the Elevator Shaft remove threats; The Roof Is Wired sweeps and spares the Henchmen; Yippee-Ki-Yay protects; The Walkie-Talkie draws.
A complete 100-card Commander deck plus 4 tokens, tuned for Bracket 4, available as a digital print-yourself edition or a printed physical deck, and offered in 10 languages.
