Reminder card. RUNES N: you get N rune counters. When a creature you control dies, you lose all your rune counters and exile a Bloodstain token with that many rune counters on it. Rune counters are this deck's second currency — they are spent as additional costs and activation costs on more than forty cards — and they are never taken from you for spending them, only for holding them.

BLOODSTAIN: you get lost runes back only by going back for them. Retrieve a Bloodstain token you own whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player, or whenever a creature that killed a creature you control dies. You get that many rune counters and the token ceases to exist.

A second death before you retrieve the first stain does not stack them. The older stain is gone.
