The Card
Deathtouch, lifegain on every death anywhere, and {1}{B} plus a creature to draw two. In a deck where creatures die every single end step, he is a draw engine that never runs dry. At six pages he is a 5/6 with ward {2}.
Hannibal Lecter is one of the Mortals. Fourteen killers in this deck never needed the book at all — they have no summoned line, they stay on the battlefield through the end step, and they are the only blockers the deck ever has. Their Body count abilities get stronger the more pages the Grimoire has written.
